I would suggest using a vitamin C serum in the morning and either a retinoid at night or a discoloration serum (or you could layer them). We're heading into summer, so you may want to wait to start the retinoid until the fall because, similar to the exfoliant you mentioned, it will increase your sensitivity to the sun.
Here are a couple of recommendations for a vitamin C serum and a discoloration serum (pick 1 of each, you don't need all 4):
A vitamin C serum I love for people with sensitive skin (suggesting this one first due to the prior sunburn you mentioned): https://go.shopmy.us/p-1811216
A great budget vitamin C serum that's powerful in its own right by using pure l-ascorbic acid: https://go.shopmy.us/p-3262757
Thanks for those tips! I will start following a basic skin routine with face wash, moisturizer and SPF that you outlined in your other posts + the vitamin C serum now for the summer. Once the sun is less intense (probably don't have to wait that long here in Sweden :D) I will include the retinoid as well.

Top-tier discoloration serum from Allies of Skin: https://go.shopmy.us/p-1696950
A bit more budget-friendly discoloration serum that I also like: https://go.shopmy.us/p-1667531

Love to hear it. Let me know how it goes, and best of luck!
