Product Review: CeraVe PM Moisturizer

Protecting your face is non-negotiable if you want to age well.
Moisturizing is the easiest way to ensure that you're maintaining your skin barrier.
But good moisturizers for people with oily skin can be hard to come by.
Oily skin tends not to react well to saturated fats and heavier moisturizers or creams.
Thus, I often lean towards suggesting gels, lotions, or hydrating serums instead.
One moisturizer that tends to go over well with my oily-skinned clients is the CeraVe PM Moisturizer.
The Good:Â
Solid ingredients list: 4% niacinamide, my preferred derivative of hyaluronic acid (sodium hyaluronate), and a super lightweight texture
Ideal for oiler skin types and warmer climates (but I have dry skin and still liked it tbh)
The Bad:Â
The bottle size and price point per fluid ounce makes this an option just for your face, not your body
Not necessarily the worst thing, but not ideal if you value convenience like I do.
I use this moisturizer for both my face and body.
Also, some people have reported breakouts from using this product.
If that's the case for you, I suspect you have a sensitivity to phenoxyethanol (uncommon, but not unheard of).
Another less likely explanation is that you're sensitive to the combination of cetearyl alcohol and cetearth-20 which can be comedogenic for certain people.
In Conclusion: The Not Ugly
This stuff is a better replacement for your 20% niacinamide serum and separate moisturizer.
It's more affordable and less likely to cause irritation.
However, I wouldn't necessarily buy this product for myself as my skin runs dry, and I prefer a moisturizer that I can use on both my face and body out of convenience.

Out of curiosity, what is it about the UltraRepair cream that makes it so much more expensive than for example Cerave moisturizing cream?? Is it that much more effective?
Loving this. I came across something that might be up your alley.
It's called tretinoin. Apparently people are using this and are looking anywhere from 3-5 years younger. Might be worth a substack post if it passes your skin care standards.
