Read many of your articles and curious about your views on toner? What do you make of the pH argument and need post-cleanser / pre-treatment. Thanks

For pH balancing? Unnecessary IMO. For hydrating and exfoliating? Can be a great way to biohack your way into perfect skin.

would you use a facial toner(scent free witch hazel)? where would you use it in these steps if you did? Is it okay to use Hyaluronic acid in both your cleanser and moisturizer? ( i have dry skin)

Hi! I do not like witch hazel, particularly for dry skin. HA in both cleanser and moisturizer is fine.

Thank you! Do you like this one CeraVe Hydrating Toner for Face, Alcohol Free Facial Toner with Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide and Ceramides for Normal to Dry Skin?

Theoretically it sounds fine, but that would depend on why you think you need a toner in the first place?

Hi, I’m new here and starting to use skin care for the first time. Just wanted to know if benzyl salicylate is one of the ‘Benzenes’ you refer to? As the spf I’m looking at has zinc oxide but also has benzyl salicylate.

Hey MJ - Apologies for the delay, I never got a notification for this. No, benzyl salicylate is not a concern imo.

Hey fawn, I'm a beginner so a post like this is super helpful! I wanted to ask... What should I be looking for in a facial cleanser for someone with oily skin? Are there any common things I should be avoiding? Thanks :)

Hey Jeff - Apologies for the delay, I never got a notification for this. There are guidelines for each skin type in the "Understanding Your Skin Type" post.
